An oxalic acid oxidase in the leaves of Bougainvillea spectabilis.

چکیده
Oxalic acid undergoes enzymic transformation along diverse channels in cell-free preparations from micro-organisms and plants. In Collyvia veltepes oxalate undergoes a simple decarboxylation (Shimazono, 1955; Shimazono & Hayaishi, 1957), whereas in other micro-organisms the decarboxylation is preceded by the formation of the CoA derivative of oxalate (Jakoby, Ohmura & Hayaishi, 1956; Kimura, Katayama & Sasakawa, 1956; Quayle, Keech & Taylor, 1961). In plants the decarboxylation of oxalate is of an oxidative type. Studies by Houget, Mayer & Plantefol (1927, 1928), Franke & Hasse (1937), Franke, Schumann & Bannerjee (1943), Niekerk-Blom (1946) and Datta & Meeuse (1955) indicated that oxalate underwent oxidative decarboxylation by an enzyme preparation from moss according to the scheme:

Effect of Hydrogen Peroxide, Ascorbic Acid and Indolic-3-Butyric Acid on Root Induction and Development in Cuttings of Bougainvillea spectabilis
Bougainvillea (Bougainvilleaspectabilis) is used for planting in the landscape because of their beautiful and colorful flowers. The easiest and cheapest technique to propagate this plant is by cuttings; however the cuttings of this plant are not easily rooted and require the special treatments, including the use of auxin. For this purpose, an experiment was performed in Completely Rand...

Dyslipidemia is major problem among population those have sedentary life style as well as in diabetics. Bougainvillea spectabilis is most commonly found in India as an ornamental plant and has got anti-diabetic action due to presence of one insulin mimicking agent D-pinitol (3-O-methyl-chiroinositol). The present investigation was undertaken to evaluate the effect of alcoholic extract of leaves...

Bougainvillea spectabilis (Family: Nyctaginaceae), commonly referred to as Great Bougainvillea or Paper Flower, is one of the traditional medicinal plants with potential antifertility activity. The aqueous extract and decoction of this plant have been used as fertility control among the tribal people in many countries. Furthermore, it has been shown to possess anticancer, antidiabetic, antihepa...
متن کاملSynthesis and Cloning of cDNA Encoding an Antiviral Protein from the Leaves of Bougainvillea spectabilis Willd. (Nyctaginaceae)
Total RNA was extracted from the mature leaves of Bougainvillea spectabilis Willd. and messenger RNA (mRNA) was separated out. Using mRNA as template, complementary DNA (cDNA) was synthesized and amplified by Reverse Transcription coupled PCR using gene specific primer. A product of 750 base pair plus was selected based on the size of Bougainvillea antiviral protein (BAP). After elution the pro...

The effects of Silver Thiosulphate (STS) and Naphtalene Acetic Acid (NAA) (0,45%NAA+1,2% NAA-amide at 500 mg.l) on flowering bud development, anthesis duration, bract longevity and bract photosynthetic rate were studied in Bougainvillea spectabilis ‘Killie Campbell’ plants, under interior conditions. The relationships between bract longevity and the above parameters were also investigated. NAA ...
